Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Lots going on!
For everyone racing this past week/weekend (B.A.A. or otherwise), I'll put those all together in the next update because I think that's going to be the majority of the races this time :)
Boston Marathon Related Stuff:
-The spreadsheet of Bangers running Boston is here: bit.ly/bangersrunboston You can use this to find bib numbers for all of our runners (and for any last-minute donations).
-Once you have bib numbers, there is a really cool app that lets you track people! Here is some info on how that works: http://www.baa.org/…/ partic…/boston-marathon- mobile-app.aspx
If you're going to be at home watching (or at work...sneakily watching), you can also track runners by bib number at baa.org.
-OR, come join the Bangers marathon viewing party at Laura Duffy's place in Brookline (thank you Laura!!). It's going to be a beautiful day, we'll have a tent outside, and we can cheer on all the runners. Bring some snacks/drinks if you're coming! See Laura's FB post for more details.
Non Marathon Related Stuff:
We have more races coming up this spring/summer!
-Next up in the Grand Prix list is the James Joyce Ramble 10K, next Sunday 4/24 in Dedham, MA. This is a wildly popular 10K that a few Bangers did last year and should be a great time!
-Over Memorial Day weekend, there's the Pineland Farms Trail Running Festival in New Gloucester, Maine. This is spread out over the course of two days (Saturday and Sunday), and has pretty much every distance you could want, from 5k to 50 miles, and all trails!
-Every year in June, the Somerville Road Runners host a 26x1 mile club relay challenge at the Tufts track. We did this last year and can even try to get two teams together this year! Their website has still not been updated with a date for 2016, so this is TBD, but I will keep you posted.
-And in July...VERT Sasquatch. Party bus + night time trail race + post-race party = awesome. Jen Daley is organizing the party bus on this one, and registration is already open. It sells out fast!
All race info and links are in the race roster. Add your name when you sign up! http://bit.ly/bangersraces
Here is the guy running the London Marathon from space again, just because I think it's really cool. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ british-astronaut-all-set-to- run-london-marathon-from- space/
Everyone running on Monday - good luck! Everyone else - hope to see you at the race!
