Bangers Chill Out at Winter Races
Showing what they're made of (free beer and sports bars, mostly), a great turnout of nearly 20 Bangers and one Bangers dog braved 32-degree temps to post fast times in the Winter Classic 5K, a runup to the Somerville Jingle Bell Run and the Yulefest on a crowded calendar of free-beer-serving holiday-season 5Ks.
The showing at the post-race outdoor voldmaning and drinking party included long-lost returnees Will Lapsley and Jonathan Starke, plus some new recruits and random passers by.
Race times were speedy. Leading the big Bangers contingent in the fast pack was Patrick Rooney, 12th in his division with a 17:47.
