Happy Friday, Bangers!
In racing news, Greg Niforos ran the Essex Half Marathon in Vermont last weekend, setting a personal record for that distance! Patrick McMahon, Mark Zurlo, Tony Chin, and Em Grover all ran the Jim Kane Sugar Bowl 5k in Dorchester last week. And yesterday, Elyse Archila, Jonna Green, and Jen Mitton ran the Jerry Garcia Memorial River Run 5k, with a PR for Jonna!
Saturday runs are continuing this weekend! For long runs, Seth is leading a 12-mile loop along the river to Watertown starting from Oak Square at 7 AM. This will be done in time for the 9:30 run from Oak Square, which is also happening - so you can do either or both! FB event for the long run is here: https://www.facebook. com/events/315029832219706/

On Tuesday the Bangers are volunteering at Room to Grow, a non-profit that works to provide services for low-income families and their newborn and growing children. The Bangers volunteering session is from 5:30-7:30 PM. Thank you Jerry Shaw for setting this up!! For more information, see FB event: https://www.facebook. com/events/162787230798596/
Finally (almost done), we have some upcoming Grand Prix races over the next few months!! All races and a list of who's signed up (and points!) are in the race roster: http://bit.ly/ bangersraces
1) Brighton Bangers 5k - Saturday, 9/17/16. This is basically mandatory for all Bangers because how will we win the team award at our own 5k again unless everybody shows up?! But seriously it's the best race ever with food trucks, live bands, and free beer all day, sign up now!
2) Smuttynose Rockfest 5k and Half Marathon - Sunday, 10/2/16. This is coming up soon and tends to sell out! Awesome and beautiful flat course along the shore of Hampton Beach, NH, complete with an after-party on the beach with chowder and lobster rolls (and of course Smuttynose beer). It's only about an hour away and we can all drive together!
3) Cambridge Half Marathon - Sunday, 11/13/16. First-ever Cambridge half!! It starts and ends near the Galleria Mall by Kendall Square and ends with the traditional after-party in the Galleria parking garage, because it'll be cold by then. This looks like a really cool course that loops through the entire city of Cambridge!
For more details on registration and to add your name for ANY of these races, go to the roster: http://bit.ly/ bangersraces
That is all, have a wonderful weekend!
